Shipping policy
Welcome to Island Bloomery. We are a small-scale flower farm based on Phillip Island, Victoria. We absolutely love sharing our patch with you through our dahlia tubers, chrysanthemum and dahlia cuttings, ranunculus plugs, flower seeds, and propagation supplies.
Because we deal with living plants and strict biosecurity rules, here is everything you need to know about how we get our stock safely from our patch to yours.
Dispatch & Seasonal Shipping Windows
Because different plants mature at different times of the year, dispatch schedules vary depending on what you have ordered:
-
Live Stock (Tubers, Corms, Plugs, Cuttings): Shipped during their designated seasonal shipping windows as outlined on each individual product listing.
-
Seeds & Supplies: Dispatched year-round within 3 to 5 business days of placing your order.
-
Combined Orders: If your order contains a mix of items with different availability dates, each item will be dispatched within the designated availability window.
We carefully schedule dispatch early in the week to prevent parcels sitting in transit facilities over the weekend.
Shipping Methods & Postal Carriers
To give your plants the fastest, safest trip possible, we ship all living plant orders via Australia Post Express.
-
Tracking: You will receive a shipping confirmation email with an Australia Post tracking number as soon as your parcel is packed and dispatched.
-
Packaging: Every single tuber, cutting, and plug is hand-inspected before packing to ensure it leaves us healthy, viable, and ready to grow. We pack securely to protect living stock during transit.

Due to strict state biosecurity laws and quarantine regulations, we currently ship to:
-
Victoria (VIC)
-
New South Wales (NSW)

Queensland (QLD)
-

Australian Capital Territory (ACT)
Restricted States: We cannot ship live plant material, tubers, corms, or seeds to Tasmania (TAS), Western Australia (WA), or the Northern Territory (NT).
If an order is placed for delivery to a restricted state, we reserve the right to cancel and refund the restricted items.
Delivery, Transit Delays & Risk
Once your parcel leaves the farm, delivery timeframes and handling are managed by Australia Post.
Island Bloomery is not liable for:
-
Australia Post transit delays or routing holds
-
Lost or stolen parcels marked as 'Delivered' by the carrier
-
Parcels left unattended in direct heat, rain, or exposed locations post-delivery
-
Delivery issues caused by incorrect or incomplete shipping details provided at checkout
Please ensure your delivery address is accurate before completing your purchase.
The 48-Hour Arrival Window
Living plants can experience minor transit stress (such as light wilting or soil disturbance), which is normal and typically resolves with proper care.
However, if your plants arrive severely damaged or looking worse for wear from their journey, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery with:
-
Your order number
-
Clear photos of the affected items and the packaging
Claims made outside this 48-hour window may not be eligible for replacement or credit, as post-delivery care shifts to the recipient upon arrival.
