At Island Bloomery, we take great care in growing, sourcing, packing, and shipping our plants and seeds. As many of our products are live or perishable items, proper handling and care after delivery is essential.

Please read our policy carefully before purchasing.

Perishable Nature of Our Products

Due to the perishable and seasonal nature of live plants and seeds, we generally do not accept returns or offer refunds for:

  • Change of mind
  • Incorrect selection or ordering mistakes
  • Improper care after delivery
  • Environmental factors including heat, frost, pests, disease, rot, or weather damage
  • Delayed unpacking or planting
  • Failure to follow care instructions
  • Cosmetic imperfections that do not affect plant health or viability
  • Germination failure caused by growing conditions or handling after delivery

All plants naturally vary in size, colour, growth habit, and appearance.

Please Inspect Your Order Immediately

Please unpack and inspect your order as soon as it arrives.

If there is an issue with your order, you must contact us within 48 hours of delivery with:

  • Your order number
  • Clear photos of the issue
  • A brief description

We may offer a replacement or store credit where appropriate.

Claims made outside the notification period may not be eligible for consideration.

Fresh Flowers

Fresh flowers are a perishable product and natural variation is part of their beauty.

Due to seasonal availability and the nature of fresh flowers:

  • Stem count, bloom size, colour tones, and varieties may vary slightly from photos
  • Flowers continue to open and change after delivery
  • Vase life depends on environmental conditions and care after delivery

To help maximise vase life, flowers should be unpacked promptly, stems trimmed, and placed into clean water upon arrival.

We do not offer refunds or replacements for:

  • Natural variation in colour, shape, or bloom stage
  • Reduced vase life caused by heat, direct sunlight, lack of water, or improper care after delivery
  • Minor bruising or movement occurring during transport

If your flowers arrive significantly damaged or incorrect, please contact us within 24 hours of delivery with clear photos and your order number.

Live Plants, Plugs & Rooted Cuttings

Live plants, plugs, and rooted cuttings are delicate and can experience minor stress during shipping.

Some wilting, yellowing, soil disturbance, or minor leaf damage during transit is considered normal and plants typically recover with proper care.

We do not offer refunds or replacements for:

  • Transit stress or cosmetic damage
  • Delayed deliveries
  • Damage caused during shipping or handling by postal carriers
  • Weather-related damage during transit
  • Parcels left unattended after delivery

We cannot guarantee plant performance after delivery, as ongoing success depends on factors outside our control including:

  • Climate and weather
  • Watering practices
  • Soil quality
  • Pest and disease management
  • Potting and planting conditions
  • General plant care

Seeds

Seed germination rates can vary depending on:

  • Sowing methods
  • Temperature and humidity
  • Soil conditions
  • Watering
  • Storage conditions after delivery

Because germination is heavily influenced by the grower’s environment and handling, we cannot guarantee germination success.

Shipping & Delivery

Once orders have been handed to the postal carrier, shipping times and handling are outside our control.

We are not responsible for:

  • Postal delays
  • Lost or stolen parcels marked as delivered
  • Damage caused during shipping
  • Damage caused by parcels being left unattended
  • Delays caused by incorrect shipping information provided at checkout

Please ensure your shipping details are correct before placing your order.

Order Cancellations

Orders cancelled before dispatch may incur a cancellation or restocking fee to cover payment processing and administration costs.

Orders that have already been packed or shipped cannot be cancelled.
