TPP and Shipping Safely

The Lowdown on TPP & Shipping Safely

What is TPP?

Tomato Potato Psyllid (TPP) is a tiny sap-sucking bug. Even though the name sounds like it only cares about veggies, it can actually hitch a ride on all sorts of green plants. Since it popped up in Victoria, the department brought in strict rules to stop it spreading interstate or into protected zones.

Are you certified to send plants?

Yes, we are fully accredited. We follow official biosecurity protocols, including the ICA-62 and PS-59 arrangements, to ensure everything leaving the property is healthy and pest-free. We don't just wing it; we operate under strict guidelines that involve monitoring, property checks, and proper paperwork.

What is the deal with ICA-62 and PS-59 certification?

These are the specific standards we follow for moving green plants safely. Under ICA-62, our property is officially monitored and accredited for plant health. Combined with the PS-59 protocol, it means every single order of green material goes through a strict process where it is either thoroughly inspected, treated, or packed in secure, insect-proof packaging before it leaves us. It is basically our guarantee to you and the authorities that no unwanted hitchhikers are making the trip.

Do I get a certificate with my order?

If you are buying green material like chrysanthemum cuttings, ranunculus plugs, or potted active growth yes, you will get a Plant Health Assurance Certificate in your box. This is the official tick of approval showing the plants have been cleared for travel.

What if I am just buying dahlia tubers or ranunculus corms?

If you are just buying dormant dahlia tubers or dry ranunculus corms with no green leaves or sprouts on them, they are exempt from these rules. They don't need the extra biosecurity paperwork because there is nowhere for the bugs to hide on a dry bulb.

Do I need to pay extra for the paperwork?

No. We cover the cost of the inspections and paperwork ourselves. If your order needs a certificate to travel safely to your doorstep, it will be in the box at no extra cost to you.

Where can you ship green material?

Being fully accredited means we can legally ship across borders to states like New South Wales, South Australia, and Queensland, depending on the current interstate rules at the time we post them.

The preventative steps we take are completely safe for the plants. It just means when they land on your doorstep, they are clean, healthy, and ready to plant out.
